How it works

Create. Share. Shoot. Come back.

  1. Create your challenge.

Pick a standard scoring template or build your own. Set a start and end date, add a banner and a description, and cap the number of archers if you want to.

  2. Share it.

Post the link on social media or in your WhatsApp group. Turn the link into a QR code with any free QR code generator and put it up around your range and shop so archers can join on the spot.

  3. Shoot it.

Archers shoot at your range or from home, post their scores and see where they rank on the leaderboard.

  4. Come back.

Archers can shoot a challenge more than once, so there is always a reason to return and improve.

Use case

How one archery shop uses NockPoint

The marketing manager at an archery shop is also a professional coach. He creates challenges on NockPoint and shares them on social media and in WhatsApp groups. The idea is simple: archers come to the range and the shop to shoot the challenge.

He turned the challenge link into QR codes with a free QR code generator and put them up around the range and the shop, so archers can join in seconds. Archers who can’t make it in can shoot the challenge remotely and still land on the same leaderboard. Everyone sees the ranking, so the challenge carries on between visits.

An archer about 370 miles (600 km) from the shop shot the same challenges remotely and showed up on the same leaderboard.

An archer doesn’t have to be a customer, a member or even live nearby to take part. The same model works for clubs, ranges and coaches. Run a monthly challenge, set a leaderboard and give your members something to chase.

FAQ

Common questions

What kinds of challenges can I create?

Scoring challenges, where the highest score wins, and arrow count challenges that track volume. Use a standard scoring format or build your own. You can also set a difficulty level, a category, a venue and a location.

Do archers have to shoot at my range?

No. Switch on Remote Challenge and archers can join from anywhere. Add a venue and location if you want to point people to your range. One challenge can bring together archers at your range and archers hundreds of miles away.

Can I build a challenge around a 3D course?

Yes. Add each target with its photo, for example Target 1 with a picture of the target, so archers know what they're shooting.

What's the difference between a public and a private challenge?

Public challenges appear in the NockPoint community feed, so anyone can find and join them. Private challenges can only be joined by people who have your link. Use private for members only, coaching groups or testing a challenge before you launch it.

Can I brand my challenge?

Yes. Upload a banner (16:9 recommended, PNG or JPG up to 5 MB) and add your logo, event name or sponsors. You can change the banner and description at any time, even while the challenge is live.

Can I control when a challenge runs and who joins?

Yes. Set a start and end date, and choose whether to publish now or save it as a draft. You can cap the number of archers, and you can see how many have joined. Once a score has been logged you can still edit the description and banner, but not the scoring format.

Can archers shoot a challenge more than once?

Yes.

Does NockPoint make QR codes?

No, but every challenge has its own link. Turn it into a QR code with any free QR code generator.

Do I need to be a club to use it?

No. Shops, ranges, coaches and groups of friends can all create challenges.

Is it free?

Yes.
